Mobile app

The mobile app is the scanner companion to the web app: everything that happens at the item itself — capturing, looking things up, handing out, counting — is fastest with a phone in hand. The rest (tables, import, settings) remains the strength of the big screen.

On first launch, a welcome card greets you on the home screen — with the direct jump-off “Scan your first item”. In the scan tab, a short intro explains why the label is the search box; it disappears by itself once the first scan finds an item.

What the app does

Scanning as the starting point: the scan tab reads QR labels and barcodes. A Mango Inventory label opens the item directly; an unknown barcode gets attached to an existing item or captures a new one — as a single item or a quantity, with the starting stock right away if you like. Under “Recently scanned” you can reopen your latest hits at any time.
Capturing through the building: the capture mode is a photo session — one photo per item, each saved immediately, and the AI suggests name and details while you keep going. At the end you review everything at your own pace: the “To review” hint takes you to your open captures at any time — on the phone or comfortably at the computer. And in case you forget: your open captures automatically appear as the task “Review your captures” under “My tasks” (home screen, Tasks tab and web) and disappear by themselves once everything is reviewed.
Looking up and handing out: detail page with photos, documents (e.g. manuals as PDFs — upload straight from the phone), location path, barcodes (view and attach new ones by camera) and history; assign straight from the scan result — including in series mode: pick the target once, scan item after item, and a tap on “Assign” takes everything over at once (with a shared undo).
Finding rooms and people: from the home screen, “Resources” opens the tree of locations and people — expand, search, tap. The detail page shows what’s in a room or what a person currently has (including stock), with photos like at the computer; from there you also start “Add items” by scan.
Counting a stocktake: walk the room list in walking order, scan labels, finish the room — the “x left” strip shows what’s still missing in the room, and the progress flows live into the stocktake.
Picking an item without a label: when reporting a ticket or in orders, you pick items right in the app — browse by category, search or type the barcode; recently used items sit at the top. In orders you collect several items with amounts in one selection — by scan button too, label after label.
Putting orders together at the shelf: in the order, “Select by scanning” opens a compact viewfinder right in the fulfillment section — scan requested items and take them over with a tap; every recognition shows a card first, nothing is taken over without confirmation. Quantity items get reserved with their amount right there.
Notifications: mentions, assigned tickets and status changes as push notifications.
